Just three years ago, the United States was an energy independent nation, a nation that was in a secure position to incorporate more renewable energy sources into its diverse and robust energy supply.
Today, the United States is a hollow shell of its former self – with pipelines and drilling operations shuttered. After the Biden regime took control in 2021, “hostile” federal administrators were quickly installed to take down the most important pillars of America’s energy infrastructure – fossil fuels, natural gas, and nuclear energy.
In the Presidential debates of 2020, Biden told the American people this was going to happen during his term, and his minions have since delivered an assault on American energy.
The UN-sanctioned, anti-fossil fuel agenda is a national security issue
Once in office, the Biden regime’s top priorities included a shutdown of pipelines and drilling permits. Biden’s transportation and energy czars routinely engage in crony capitalism, punishing the fossil fuel industry while providing taxpayer-funded incentives for renewable energy sources. These anti-fossil fuel mandates will soon transform the entire automobile industry, forcing consumers to buy electric vehicles from China, while endangering the diesel supply.
Today, Biden’s anti-fossil fuel economy has driven up the price of gasoline, diesel, transport, and food. This government failure was intentional and it has caused great financial stress on poor and working-class Americans. Notwithstanding, the Biden regime’s chaotic overreach into the energy economy is threatening national energy security and waking up complacent Democrats to the utter failure of this regime.
This is why the Biden regime is now begging for more domestic crude and refining production, while burning through the strategic petroleum reserves. Midterm elections are coming and the Democrats are doing everything they can to artificially suppress fuel prices right before the election. Ironically, Biden is so desperate now, he is threatening the fossil fuel industry with higher taxes if they don’t start boosting production!
After the Biden regime caused fuel prices to double, triple and quadruple in some areas of the country, the feds quickly began to backtrack. In the lead-up to the midterm election, the Biden regime is burning through the nation’s petroleum reserves, which are only intended to be used during war time. After slightly suppressing fuel prices, Biden even balked about creating low gas prices (even though the price is over double that of the previous administration).
Democrats are tackling “climate change” by destroying people’s lives and putting national security at risk
Energy Transfer LP’s co-chief executive officer, Marshall McCrea, spoke about the Biden regime’s chaotic energy policy on a recent company conference call. Energy Transfer controls over 120,000 miles of oil and gas pipelines in 41 states and Canada.
McCrea said that “hostile” federal administrators were installed in the Biden administration to attack America’s energy industry. On the call, he questioned the government’s hasty, shortsighted transition to renewables, and said that the actions taken under this administration have threatened global energy security.
“Modern life with a reasonable standard of living and affordable energy is simply not possible without fossil fuels,” McCrea said. “This illogical and irrational politically-led rush to renewables will have devastating impacts on the cost, reliability, and security of energy around the world as we’re seeing in Europe and other places,” McCrea said in the conference call.
In their bid to “save the planet” from climate change, Democrats have made life harder for the poor and working class. The UN climate change agenda has crippled Western nations and driven up energy prices to the point of destroying small businesses en masse. Moreover, this anti-fossil fuel agenda has made Western nations more vulnerable to Russia and China, as these nations work together and use fossil fuels and pipelines as leverage against the West. No matter how hard Western nations virtue signal about saving the planet, Russian and China will continue to forge ahead with realistic energy policies that prioritize fossil fuel energy sources that people need in order to live in modern society.
