Now ballet is “racist” because of its European origins

(Natural News) Chloé Lopes Gomes, a 29-year-old black ballerina, is angry. For years, she has danced at one of Europe’s premier ballet companies, considered to be the most prestigious in the world. And yet, because she has dark skin, Gomes feels uncomfortable because of all the other light-skinned dancers.

NBC News devoted an entire article to Gomes’ gripes, which include complaints that not enough dancers “of color” are involved in ballet. Gomes also feels like black access to ballet is limited, thus making it an “elitist” art form.

After joining Berlin’s Staatsballett back in 2018, Gomes says she was told that her mistakes really stood out from the rest because her skin has a darker color. She also claims she was mocked when given a white-colored veil for a show.

For a performance of “Swan Lake,” Gomes says she was told to wear white makeup, which is a longtime tradition of the show. This requirement was dropped, however, in the 2018-19 season.

“Asking not only a black person but a ballerina to color their skin to look whiter, I don’t think it’s right – I felt very humiliated and very alone,” Gomes told NBC.

Even though the whole purpose behind making “Swan Lake” dancers color their skin white is to look like white swans, Gomes still feels as though it is offensive to black people.

“The harassment kept going,” Gomes complained. “I was very depressed.”

Gomes says she had to take some time off in 2019 due to an injury, during which time she started taking antidepressant medications. This she blames on being black when most of the other dancers were white.

About a year after returning back to work, Gomes was told that her contract would not be renewed. This, too, was an act of racism, she and NBC suggest.

Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of payment cards that were designed in the 1950s. The system uses its own currency, the Q, and to get people to start using the system once it’s ready they are allocating Qs for free to people that sign up now (the amount drops as more people join – so better to join early). Signing up is free and they only ask for your name and an email address. There’s nothing to lose but if this payment system becomes a world leading payment method your Qs can be worth a lot. If you missed getting bitcoin seven years ago, you wouldn’t want to miss this. Will anything make these people happy?

It would appear as though nothing was good enough for Gomes, who saw racism hiding behind every swan. And for this she came forward, with the help of NBC, to create even more racial animosity against white people.

Gomes had the privilege of attending Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet Academy, which is only accessible to the best of the best in the dance world. Even so, Gomes has criticized the school for not having enough blacks.

“Our skin color should not be a criteria,” Gomes whined, apparently oblivious to the fact that she was accepted there even with her black skin. “I want an equal chance for everyone, and right now it’s not the case.”

The European dance world does, in fact, offer equal chances to any dancer who is qualified, hence why Gomes was accepted in the first place. Instead of appreciating the opportunity she was given, however, Gomes has done nothing but complain and blame her own personal issues on other people’s alleged “racism” against her.

This victim mentality has become the norm throughout the West, where people “of color” seem to find any reason possible to play the victim. And if you say anything about it, then you are a racist.

Every person, regardless of skin color – except maybe white males, these days – already has equal opportunity to succeed. It is when one starts demanding equal outcomes or equal access that the line is crossed into fascism.

Gomes’ attitude is one that, because of her dark skin, will elicit all sorts of sympathetic emotions from bleeding hearts who, rather than look at the situation objectively, will demand “change.”

In this case, the goal seems to be to uproot ballet, which is historically European – you know, like those historically black colleges that are preserved for the sake of culture – and replace it with multiculturalist “dance.”

If it looks white, in other words, then it has to go. If it looks black, then more power to it. Talk about privilege.
