As of August 22, at least 1,100 people are still missing and 115 bodies have been found but only 27 have been identified following the deadliest wildfire in the United States in over a century. The said blaze took place in the used-to-be picturesque tourist town of Lahaina, home to 12,000 people. The massive number of deaths and total damages left by the “inferno” are being blamed on many incompetencies of the local government of Maui and a possible staged or geoengineered conflagration. “Health Ranger Report” podcast host Mike Adams, in a recent episode, questioned many coincidences on the “government-sponsored terrorism against the people of Hawaii.” “Why were they denied a water supply? Why were they denied the emergency sirens? Why were the children told to go home when the fires were approaching? Why was the fire department called off?” he wondered. This obviously engineered “event’s” aftermath even shocked responders, who found some families huddled together with their children burned alive. Adams blamed the government’s actions, “which many of us believe were deliberate.” He also linked this to the possible giant land grab taking place in Lahaina. According to reports, Hawaii Governor Josh Green warned developers from the U.S. and the rest of the world not to buy up the lands burned by the catastrophic wildfires because the state government is considering acquiring them for the locals so it’s not “stolen by people on the mainland.” “I’m already thinking of ways for the state to acquire that land so that we can put it into workforce housing, to put it back into families, or make it open spaces in perpetuity as a memorial to the people who were lost,” Green claimed. For the show’s guest, bioterrorism and weapons of mass destruction expert Steve Quayle, what happened to Hawaii is a full-court press of the globalist Luciferians bent on destroying humanity. “I have never seen such a heartless display of incompetence, almost to the point of everybody’s looking at the other guy to give a better lie than the guy that gave a lie before. [The victims] are our fellow humans and countrymen. And again, it’s a democratic-controlled governor and local hierarchy,” the renowned author noted. Elsewhere in the show, Adams stressed how globalist officials can actually “cause” disasters in many other ways just to carry out their hidden agenda. “They can cause an electrical failure, floods, and droughts and even move weather systems around. Or they can cause riots. It’s just one emergency after another, just engineered one after another. No one is safe right now,” the Natural News and Brighteon founder said. Quayle agreed saying that, that is the key statement: No one is safe. “The idea of safety is fleeing away,” he warned, citing a cyclone hurricane coming onto the West Coast as an example. “But what people are seeing as the controlled narrative – false – of human-initiated climate change is absolutely at the hands of the man using some of the highest technology that exists. There is no natural weather only manipulated weather.” Communication is key In disasters like the one that just happened in Lahaina, Adams and Quayle agreed that communication is key, and it is not “mainstream” communication. “People need to understand that when a controlled action against American people occurs to destroy them, [authorities] always take normal communications offline. They take them down,” Quayle said. “If you control the narrative, you only show images you want the public to see. So, there is a necessity for emergency communications and power.” He further pointed out the significance of being able to connect to the people in a family sphere to update them on your safety and status. Adams lauded his other guest, Tina of SAT123.com, the satellite phone store, for the help it is currently providing Lahaina. According to the sat phone store representative, they got about 30 satellite phones donated in Maui. “People are out there working day and night, looking and trying to rescue people. On the island, people rely on cell sites and landlines and both are down. So, the only communication in the affected areas are satellite phones,” she said, adding that they are encouraging at least a person in a community to have a satellite phone to call out to get help or to call friends and family. She also added that satellite phones are best to use if one does not want to be listened in on because the lines are secured. When even the mainstream media is admitting that messenger RNA (mRNA) Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines” are dangerous and “produce viral shedding,” you might want to pay attention. This is the shocking admission in a new piece from EVIE magazine, which is warning its readers to avoid having sexual relations with men who got jabbed for covid because their bodies are likely spreading spike proteins and other deadly substances in the process. “Shocker, it’s not just a conspiracy!” warns EVIE’s Andrea Mew. “New evidence has emerged suggesting that mRNA vaccines can produce viral shedding. So, perhaps you’re justified after all for being pretty picky about your sexual partner.” (Related: Earlier this year, research published by French pharmacologist Dr. Helene Banoun in the journal Infectious Diseases Research found that those who take covid injections do, in fact, shed their contents onto others, including sexual partners.) mRNA “rewrites the way your cells function” and “can interact with and change DNA,” EVIE reveals In Mew’s piece for EVIE, she references research showing that aerosolized antibodies from mRNA covid injections can be transmitted from vaccinated to unvaccinated individuals through a process called “passive immunization.” This might sound like a good thing, she writes, in that it implies that one is sharing “immunity” with another – “But it’s not so simple,” she warns. “Some critics, like podcaster Joe Rogan, have pointed out how the very nature of this ‘vaccine’ likens it more to experimental gene therapy than your typical vaccine,” Mew further states. “It’s true, what we’re currently dealing with are mRNA vaccines, not live attenuated vaccines. The latter contains a weak form of the virus that is meant to cause an immune response upon injection and therefore provide future immunity.” Mew goes to great lengths to unpack what we here at Natural News and many others across the independent media spectrum have been warning you about for years, only to be dubbed “conspiracy theorists” by the corporate-controlled media. It appears that things are changing, though, as a popular magazine for modern women is warning them to steer clear of men who got pricked by Tony Fauci and Donald Trump through Operation Warp Speed. In addition to “rewrite[ing] the way your cells function so that you can inherently prevent disease through protein production,” Mew further explains that mRNA jabs also have the ability to “interact with and change DNA.” “For instance, we know that the Covid shot wasn’t developed to interact with the human liver, and yet in a Swedish study, researchers discovered that the vaccine was altering liver cells,” Mew writes. “Then, in a Pfizer Japanese biodistribution study, news emerged that the spike proteins could travel from the injection site through your blood and accumulate in unintended tissues and organs like the spleen, adrenal glands, ovaries, bone marrow, and again, the liver.” Then we have the risk of myocarditis, as well as blood that becomes contaminated with “full-length spike protein” that is “unbounded by antibodies,” not to mention the specific risks to women involving menstrual irregularities and potential birth defects. Mew even references the aforementioned Banoun study, as well as another out of Colorado showing that fully vaccinated parents can transfer mRNA antibodies “via respiratory droplets” to their unvaccinated children. If face masks actually worked (spoiler alert: they don’t), then they would come in handy to protect one’s unvaccinated self against contracting an mRNA covid injection through the aerosolized respiratory droplets of a fully vaccinated person. “In the quest to advance modern medicine, we shouldn’t shy away from tough topics just because they may go against preconceived biases,” Mew writes in conclusion about these difficult truths. Most of the independent media coverage about the Maui “fire” is focused on the mismanagement of the disaster by corrupt government agencies like FEMA, and by questionable non-profit organizations like the American Red Cross, both of which are reportedly depriving locals and other survivors of much-needed emergency resources. But what about the censorship of commercial pilots who saw firsthand what happened – or more importantly, what may not have actually happened – that fateful day? An investigation into the reports that commercial pilots normally file concerning things they see or encounter during a flight has found that a shocking 30 percent, at least, of all PIREPs (pilot reports) filed with air traffic control (ATC) from Kahului Airport (OGG) in the center of Maui are missing, which begs the question: why? According to Maui County, the Lahaina “fire” – the reason for “fire” being in quotes will become clearer as you read the rest of this story – started on the morning of August 8 and was declared 100 percent contained shortly before 9 a.m. the very same day. Despite this, the mainstream media continued to talk about the fires long past August 8. A NOTAM (notice to airmen) temporary flight restriction (TFR) was later issued on August 14 Hawaii time, and is scheduled to end on August 23. The stated reason for this is to provide a safe environment for firefighting, but why would this be needed if the fire was put out on August 8? (Related: Another theory is that climate-obsessed leftist terrorists plotted Lahaina’s destruction to spread more fear and anxiety about global warming.) Targeted DEWs are likely what took out Lahaina, not a “wildfire” It would seem as though someone wants to keep the airspace in and around Lahaina clear well past the time when the “fire” ended. And that same someone, or someones, does not want the general public to access many of the PIREPs that were filed by commercial pilots on August 8. “This means that the PIREPs and any other ATC communication that took place that day is something that Big Brother doesn’t want the world to know,” says Citizen Watch Report about the matter. “I wonder what all the pilots saw and what they reported. If anybody knows any pilots who flew in or out of OGG on August 8, it is imperative one reaches out to them and learn the truth.” The only reason to censor PIREPs from the day is to hide the truth of what really happened from the general public. If, in fact, this was another directed energy weapon (DEW) event, then pilots may have seen that there was no actual wildfire, and instead a targeted weapon being used on the people of Lahaina in order to steal their land. Consider the “miracle” house, which was the only structure to mysteriously survive the “fire” completely unscathed, along with the open grass parcel right next to it. Notice in the photos embedded in the above-linked article that the “fire” perfectly avoided this historic structure. And notice how the Honolulu Civil Beat does not skip a beat in trying to explain it away as having to do with the building’s materials, which supposedly saved it from burning. Looking at those photos, it sure seems like the DEW’s were instructed to burn down everything in the area except that historic structure, which almost looks like it was computer-edited to look unscathed, but the building and property are, in fact, there and undamaged. “The shape of these fires in Maui (a perfect ellipse) combined with the fact that boats on the water were burning and that Oprah Winfrey’s mansion was spared makes me think a Directed Energy Weapon was used to start the fires,” one commenter further noted. These unnatural fire outbreaks began in earnest in early spring, and have continued incessantly since that time. What began in Canada, has now overtaken the Hawaiian island of Maui, among many other areas around the world, and the devastation is incredible. Only psychopaths could perpetrate such evil as this, but the coverup and blame on bogus ‘climate change,’ has been accepted by most of course, and promulgated by the ruling class, and every State-owned or controlled mainstream media outlet. The attack on all truthtellers claiming these horrendous fires to be intentionally set, was instant, without any legitimate evidence to the contrary to back their plotted refutations, and in fact, this universal response was certainly coordinated. Now there is a fight to see who will take this land in Maui, and by take, I mean exactly that. It has been exposed that many are attempting to buy and gain contracts to build a new ‘smart city’ on this hallowed ground, and many big players are involved, including Blackrock.. Those claiming to help, people like Jeff Bezos and Oprah Winfrey, are already heavily involved, and the governor of Hawaii, Josh Green, has taken control of this, and not to the benefit of those residents and business owners who lost everything. As to extreme fear-mongering, weather ‘services’ nationwide, have intentionally changed all reporting in order to strike extreme fear in the collective herd called the ‘citizenry.’ Fantastic claims of record heat, which are bogus in most every case, are rampant. Instead of greens and darker muted colors to show heat, dark reds and purples just so happen to be the new norm across the entire country, and simultaneously; a coincidence certainly? In addition, the heat is not just hot, it is now “boiling” according to these weather idiots. These descriptions, while ludicrous and plotted, are purposely meant to cause undue alarm in an uninformed ‘public’ with little or no desire or effort to understand any truth. All of these things, and an endless supply of other threats, including the threat of nuclear war, of financial collapse, of food shortages, of extreme inflation leading to extreme prices, to new ‘pandemic’ emergencies, to travel restrictions, lockdowns, monitoring of all transactions, and of total digitization of the economy in order to control all, are now constant. The end of cash is being pursued aggressively, and the replacement by central bank digital currency (CBDC) is looming in the near future. This agenda too, has recently accelerated greatly, indicating that the ruling element of society is attempting to expand its control mechanisms more quickly so as to avoid any pushback. Given what is happening in open view, the great increase of intentionally-structured disastrous events, the massive transfer of wealth and property, the government’s aggressive stance immediately following every manufactured ‘weather event’ or so-called ‘natural’ emergency, and the total disregard for life and personal property, how long will it be until this takeover plot becomes fully entrenched in reality? All of these events are meant to make the average ‘citizen’ dependent on the State. The more dependency, the easier to control. When the bulk of society cannot or will not take care of themselves, will not be responsible for their own lives and freedom, will not fight back in their own defense, and voluntarily choose to acquiesce to authority and State relief instead of taking any personal responsibility, what will become of this country? It will be very telling to watch this State terrorism that has been released on Maui, and how the people respond. Will they give up their homes and land that was destroyed by and due to evil forces, or will they demand to keep and hold their property? Will they disallow this totalitarian scum called a governor from his nefarious U.N. plans, and keep what is theirs? Or will they simply allow the State’s political class to do as they please with everything they have deliberately destroyed, and become wards (slaves) of the State? Once mass dependence is in place, there will no longer be any chance of a free society. The State seeks to control all, and the way to accomplish that heinous mission, is to make the populace at large completely impotent, so that they have not the ability or drive to fight back. Recently released graphic body camera footage showed a 37-year-old gunman open firing on Fargo police, killing a rookie cop who’d only been on the job for three months and critically injuring two others. The gunman was shot dead by 32-year-old Officer Zach Robinson, ending the nearly two-minute assault. On July 14, Mohamad Barakat, a Syrian asylum seeker, parked his car in Fargo, North Dakota, near two vehicles that crashed on a busy road. When the cops arrived to respond to the crash, he seized his moment, opening fire. The police said that Barakat was armed with 1800 rounds of ammunition, multiple firearms, tactical gear, a grenade, three canisters of gasoline and two propane tanks filled with Tannerite, which is a highly explosive material. He had enough explosives to obliterate a crowd in what would have been a catastrophic domestic terrorist attack had it not been thwarted. We’ve got three officers down. Send everybody.” Wallin was shot first. He was taking his weapon out of its holster and was a nanosecond away from firing his own gun when he was fatally injured. Dotas was then hit with multiple rounds and struggled to his feet at one point but went back down, North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley said during a press conference where the state officials released Robinson’s bodycam footage. Hawes also was hit multiple times, shot through his right arm, and unable to stand up to walk, but crawled to Dotas’ side, “to be at his side, to be holding his hand, to be calling his name, to be willing him to live,” Wrigley said. The July 14 dated video showed the three officers lying motionless on the ground as Robinson nears Barakat’s vehicle. Barakat also shot a woman fleeing the scene before he was exterminated by Robinson, who shot Barakat 31 times in total. The gunman somehow survived the majority of the shots and continued to reach for his weapon before eventually being taken out. According to an X post of @KanekoaTheGreat, authorities believe Barakat’s ambush was the prelude to a larger attack that day, with a potential target of the Downtown Fargo Street Fair attended by thousands. The day before the shooting, he Googled “area events where there are crowds” which led him to an article about the Downtown Fargo Street Fair, which was taking place on the same day. His search history also included “explosive ammo,” “incendiary rounds” and “mass shooting events.” Barakat moved to the U.S. in 2012 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2019. Before the incident, his only crime or infraction was a speeding ticket. The shooting investigation remains active and is “proceeding to its logical conclusion,” Wrigley said. The Society of Actuaries Research Institute published a report in May warning about a “stunning” 34 percent increase in young people dying (ages 35-44). The report concluded that “COVID-19 claims do not fully explain the increase” and that something much more catastrophic is destroying people’s lives. This trend of excess mortality began in the third quarter of 2021 and has continued ever since. The mainstream media, funded heavily by the pharmaceutical industry, used a running tally of COVID-19 victims in 2020 to promote lockdowns, mandates and various measures of medical tyranny and psychological abuse. Trying to appear compassionate and full of virtue, the mainstream media pushed “safety” measures that only caused more pain and suffering in the end. Today, the mainstream media is silent on the issue of excess mortality. More people are dying in 2022 and 2023 across all age groups. The mainstream media is not pushing emergency declarations or keeping a tally of these deaths to push for any government intervention, investigation, or societal action. Excess mortality is occurring across all age groups, especially in the young and previously healthy population, and the talking heads in the mainstream media won’t even ask why. The elephant in the room is stomping and roaring, but remains ignored In an important op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Pierre Kory of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) says, “No one knows precisely what is driving the phenomenon, but there is an inexplicable lack of urgency to find out. A concerted investigation is in order.” The excess mortality represents a public health emergency that far exceeds the death and devastation during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. However, after pushing unlawful and unethical COVID-19 vaccine mandates, the mainstream media is hush-hush about any of the real-world results that have taken place after multiple rounds of vaccination have been pushed into the population. If the vaccine program was such a success, then COVID-19 would have been stopped in its tracks in 2021 and there would be fewer deaths throughout 2022 and 2023. The vaccine was not the savior that the mainstream media made it out to be. By remaining silent about the real-world consequences post vaccine, the mainstream media becomes a co-conspirator in the crimes against humanity that have taken place during this global scandal of medical tyranny and experimentation. “When you see what happened in the youngest age groups, it’s absolutely terrifying.” Kory told the Defender. “In general, a stable society has a certain percentage of people dying every month, every year, every day. Those rates are stable over time,” he explained. “When you see more people dying than the baseline, it’s considered excess mortality. It’s an increase in the amount of people dying within a population.” Kory said that he and co-author Mary Beth Pfeiffer did not mention the COVID-19 vaccines in the op-ed because if they did, their concerns on excess mortality would never have been published. This goes to show that mainstream media is covering up for the vaccine industry and not allowing for debate or investigation that is crucial for the future of medical ethics and the integrity of the scientific method, not to mention, the lives and livelihoods of populations around the globe. Kory questions why there is not outrage on this issue. “The massive number of post-pandemic deaths has managed to interest only a cadre of data specialists, scientists, physicians and journalists who believe mistakes were made in pandemic management,” Kory wrote. “But why, we ask, has this issue engendered a deafening silence rather than urgently needed, high-level investigation.” Getting to the heart of the issue in his personal Substack, Kory writes that “the sudden, unprecedented rise in life insurance claims in the 3rd quarter of 2021 among the healthiest sector of society — working age, white-collar Americans with group life insurance policies” has one plausible cause: COVID-19 vaccine mandates. “What happened in the white-collar workplace at that time?” Kory wrote. “I will give you the only possibilities that could explain such a sudden rise: a series of terrorist attacks, wartime mobilization, or the proliferation of corporate vaccine mandates. Just when you may have thought things couldn’t get any crazier: American playwright and humorist C.J. Hopkins, profiled in this space on numerous occasions, has been sent a “punishment order” by a German judge, offering him a Sophie’s Choice of 60 days in jail or 3,600 euros. (Article by Matt Taibbi republished from Racket.news) His crime? Essentially, insulting the German health minister in a tweet, and using a scarcely-visible image of a Swastika on a mask in a book critical of the global pandemic response, The Rise of the New Normal Reich. He was first accused of this “crime” in June, shortly after Roger Waters was placed under investigation for wearing his clearly satirical “Pink” costume in a stage performance in Berlin. As I wrote when C.J. was charged weeks later, authorities claim that through the use of the mask image, C.J. was “disseminating propaganda, the contents of which are intended to further the aims of a former National Socialist organization.” The judge in C.J.’s case has already heard free-speech argumentation from his lawyer, and this technically being a non-jury misdemeanor offense, has already ruled against those arguments. C.J. will apparently have a chance to argue for mitigation, but the decree has already been handed down: The “Punishment Order” for C.J. Hopkins Here is the would-be offending image: As noted previously, here are some images currently on sale in Germany that have not been made the subjects of hate speech prosecutions: No amount of drugs exist that if consumed would allow a rational person to conclude that the writing of C.J. Hopkins furthers “the aims of a former National Socialist Organization.” Agree with him or not, and I increasingly do, he used his imagery to compare the sweeping declarations of emergency power that were common around the world during the pandemic (and were particularly authoritarian in Germany) to Nazi tactics. He compared, for instance, the 2020 “Infection Protection Act” to the “Enabling Act of 1933,” which announced that to “remedy the distress of the people,” the “laws enacted by the government of the Reich may deviate from the constitution.” C.J.’s real offense seems to be a response to a tweet by Die Welt, quoting German health minister Karl Lauterbach. Portrayed in full Sprockets-style smart-glasses glory, Lauterbach is shown saying, “The masks always send out a signal”: C.J. retweeted the quote, adding the image from his book cover. That’s it, that’s the offense. No matter how you feel about that exchange, that is not “intended to further the aims of a former National Socialist organization.” That is using the negative connotations of Nazism to criticize a currently serving government official. I defy any American reporter to justify incarceration for this type of criticism of a still-serving politician. We’d have to build a separate Supermax just for people who used Hitler analogies during the Trump years, or published gleeful headlines like, “Lawsuit Reveals Trump Can’t Stand Being Compared to Hitler.” The use of speech laws in this way recalls the way drug laws are applied in the U.S. We let stockbrokers blow as much coke as they want, out of the navels of exotic dancers if they like, but make possession a real crime in other contexts, effectively giving authorities a way to use an “offense” committed by many to selectively criminalize membership in certain groups, residency in certain neighborhoods, etc. As C.J. points out, the real problem is not so much with his case (although he’s certainly worried), but the now-open way in which such laws are being applied, from the prosecution of Julian Assange to the suppression of Covid speech and even the extra counts addressing “false statements” in tweets by Donald Trump. We’ve already decided that Racket will help with C.J.’s fine if and when this matter is finally adjudicated, and we’ll keep you updated on the progress of the case, and on the progress of the many laws being considered to allow more prosecutions of this type in more parts of the world. Until then, some words from C.J., whom I reached this morning: Matt Taibbi: What the fuck? C.J. Hopkins: I’m relatively okay in that I just got the latest update from my lawyer yesterday, I guess. Matt Taibbi: This is the same case? I’m not confusing this with something else? C.J. Hopkins: You’re not. It’s the same case. It’s the weirdest thing. I’m just drafting a new thing about it. I think I wrote you, described the process a little bit, but yeah, this is just the next stage of the same case. Matt Taibbi: So this essentially is about the use of the image on the cover, right? C.J. Hopkins: It’s about the tweet… It’s the cover art from the book and it’s me going after the mask thing, like the one tweet I think, not exactly verbatim but pretty close, says the masks are nothing but ideological conformity symbols, and that’s all they’ve ever been. Stop pretending like they’re anything else or get used to wearing them. That’s one tweet. Then the other tweet was going after Karl Lauterbach, our health minister here. He tweeted his own tweet and his quote was, “The masks always send out a signal,” and so I just quoted it back to him and stuck the image from the book on the front as well. That’s it. It’s basically, I insulted the health minister of Germany and put a picture of a barely visible swastika online. Matt Taibbi: You need an electron microscope to see it! C.J. Hopkins: I’ve said it, I don’t know how many fucking times, it’s not illegal. Yes, if you’re a Nazi, it’s illegal to spread swastikas around in Germany. But if you’re doing art, if you’re commenting on history, if you’re selling a book, there are a whole slew of reasons for exceptions where people can and do use swastikas, which you put in your piece, you put examples of the book covers. My lawyer has made all these arguments to the prosecutor. Matt Taibbi: And those arguments were rejected? C.J. Hopkins: Not even addressed, really. It’s just we had a chance to respond first and then we asked them for the tweets. That’s when we got the tweets. Then my lawyer wrote an even longer and more detailed response citing the terms of law and explaining who I am and my whole history of published work that anybody could fucking look at and figure out who I am, and what my intentions are. And nothing. The next thing we got was called an Order of Punishment. Matt Taibbi: Oh, my goodness. C.J. Hopkins: We got it yesterday. Basically, the story is this judge has already decided what my punishment is, which is either 3,600 euros or 60 days in jail. It’s so fucking Kafka-esque. So now the next step is that we go to “trial.” We go to trial where my lawyer will argue the exact same stuff that he’s already argued in written pleadings. He’ll argue that before the same judge that has already found me guilty and handed down this Order of Punishment. Matt Taibbi: So this is sort of analogous to the process of being sentenced in the United States and asking for mitigation in sentencing? C.J. Hopkins: I guess. I mean, I’m used to a trial where you go and you argue first and then they find you guilty. I guess the written argument was that was sufficient and so now I’m guilty. And yeah, I think that’s it. Because my lawyer is also talking about just getting the fine reduced. Matt Taibbi: Is it going to affect your immigration status or your ability to live there? C.J. Hopkins: I’m going to be a convicted fucking criminal, a hate criminal. I don’t think it can affect my ability to live here. I’ve got a permanent residence visa. Not that I want to stay. I spent the better part of yesterday standing on a bridge with my wife, talking about when and how I’m going to get the hell out of here. I don’t know, Matt, I don’t think that it can affect my residency status. I’ve got permanent residency. Who knows? Who knows at this point? Matt Taibbi: Has there been any interest from media there or here? C.J. Hopkins: Not major media… There’s a German journalist, Dirk Pohlmann, who was in the mainstream media here for many, many years. He runs his own independent thing now, and wrote up a piece on it. There’s another independent German journalist who writes for a mainstream Swiss paper. He lives in Switzerland. He wrote up something just on his Substack. It didn’t appear in his paper. I was grateful as hell for Europeans, because I didn’t expect a ton of stuff from the US. I thought that I might get some action here in Germany and it’s killing me. This country is fucking breaking my heart. Matt Taibbi: Absent some kind of mitigation, you’re going to have to make a decision about paying or serving. Are you thinking about doing the time? C.J. Hopkins: No. I thought about it originally and I thought, okay, I’ll make a statement. I’m going to be 62 years old in a couple of days. Life is too short to spend two months in an extremely overcrowded jail in Berlin. Let me say one more thing before you go. My case is my case, but really the story here is this is happening all over. This is just this naked crushing of dissent and opposition. Look at what they’re doing to Trump in the States. Look at what they’re doing to Assange, to people much bigger than me. I think that’s the real story here, just this naked crushing of dissent and opposition. Matt Taibbi: We’ll obviously want to keep tabs on your situation.
