“Rittenhouse’s attorneys and prosecutors agreed in January that the gun would be destroyed. Rittenhouse’s attorneys has said Rittenhouse didn’t want someone to buy it as a trophy,” local station WTMJ reports.
Rittenhouse fatally shot Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and shot and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, during a riot in Kenosha in August 2020. A jury determined that the teenager was acting in self-defense and he was found not guilty across the board.
The verdict did not stop many in the media from continuing to brand him a “murderer.”

“We’re going to hold everybody who lied about me accountable, such as everybody who lied called me a White supremacist,” Rittenhouse said during an appearance on Tucker Carlson last month. “They’re all going to be held accountable. And we’re going to handle them in a courtroom.”
