We Are the Children of Light
COMMON SENSE: When I was in graduate school at Emory University working on a Ph.D. in international politics, one of the books I read was, The Children of Light and the Children of Darkness. It was written by Reinhold Niebuhr. Most of you have probably never heard of him, but Niebuhr wrote the Serenity Prayer that is an integral part of Alcoholics Anonymous and every other 12-step recovery program.
He wrote the book in 1944, at the height of World War II. Not surprisingly, its focus was about how unprepared the Western democracies had been when Hitler took power in Germany. Niebuhr stated that because leaders of the Western nations played by the rules, they were initially ineffective in dealing with Hitler. Being a Child of the Darkness, Hitler was by nature unethical, unscrupulous and evil. This made his attempts at world domination successful until the Children of the Light came to understand exactly who he was. When they did, it motivated them to destroy him and the Third Reich.
Reading his book was foundational in helping me develop my unshakable Conservative, America-first worldview. From the perspective I have, those of us who believe in Free Speech, limited government that is accountable, and an America-first agenda are the Children of Light. Because we have played by the rules, in our naïveté, we mistakenly assumed the Progressive Left, who are the Children of Darkness, would play that way as well. But they haven’t, have they?

Based on fraud, manipulation, governmental overreach, dictatorial mandats and cheating, they are on the verge of destroying the United States from within. If allowed to succeed, they will plunge our beloved nation into a dark abyss from which we will probably never be able to extricate ourselves.
From the moment the Progressive Left gained control of the White House and both Houses of Congress, they have championed their depraved worldview, legislating right to make it become wrong and wrong to make it become right. They have become so successful in establishing their evil agenda that the land of the free and the home of the brave has become nearly unrecognizable.
For years, fearful of being called racists and worse by the Children of Darkness, millions of Americans have demurred. Many people of faith have chosen to withdraw. They have placed their heads in the sand. Hoping that these are the End Times, they are waiting to be rescued by the Rapture. Refusing to stand strong as they should, they secretly like what is happening because it fits into their misguided theological narrative. It never occurs to them that they have become “useful fools” and willing pawns to be exploited by the Children of Darkness.
For the USA to survive, for the nation we have loved our entire lives to continue, things have to change and change fast. Now that we know exactly what the goal of the Children of Darkness is—a globalist New World Order ruled by Progressive elitists—we must oppose them militantly. Refusing to surrender the American way of life, we must not allow them to be victorious.
Because the Children of Darkness are incapable of either seeing the light or of governing without corruption, they do not have the capacity to understand the power of a righteous cause like ours. As Children of the Light, we do. Although the struggle to rid ourselves of the massive depravity that has infected an entire generation of young people may seem overwhelming, we must stand firmly against the deceptions Gen Zers hold as undeniable truths.
If we are faithful, Almighty God will be too. If we continue to abdicate our responsibilities as citizens, we will not prevail. Instead, we will allow the tyranny of the depraved to snuff out the light that has burned brightly within Americans since the days of the Puritans and Pilgrims.
Although the Children of Darkness are undoubtedly congratulating themselves for being so successful at fundamentally transforming the USA, now being on the precipice of complete victory, their apparent triumph may be short lived. As we mount a counteroffensive against them, they are about to be exposed for exactly who they are, each and every one of them. It’s time to stop being a negative defeatist, abdicating responsibility. It’s time to join the fight.
